Rotary Student of the Month: March
Please join us in recognizing one of our outstanding seniors, Rachel Hines. She will be honored as the LHS Rotary Student of the Month for CTE on Tuesday, March 21st.
Chris Gapinski and Jeff Woffinden were excited to nominate Rachel Hines on behalf of CTE. “Rachel is a CTE ‘triple-threat’ with her simultaneous pursuits of Computer Science, DECA and Journalism. She has been an active member of Liberty’s Girls Who Code Club since its inception during her Freshmen year. During her Junior and Senior years, she has served as the club’s President and has boosted participation to its highest level. She has also been involved with the school paper, The Patriot Press, for 3 years. She’s served as a beat reporter, the Feature Editor, and this year as an Editorial Board member. In DECA, she has also been a member for the past three years and is currently the chapter President. She has competed at DECA nationals twice and was a finalist both years, placing 2nd and 7th.
Rachel has been an outstanding ambassador for Liberty High School and the community in all the things she does. She is an extraordinary communicator, has great character and strives to make the world around her a better place. She served as a community outreach officer last year. She has worked with Liberty alumni to bring their college and work experiences back to the current students. She is outgoing, supports her fellow student, and always willing to find ways to make Liberty more visible in the community. She is exceptionally well-rounded and deserves to be Liberty’s CTE Rotary Student of the Month.”
Congratulations Rachel, we’re excited for your future!
